We thought we would share that Google as officially found us in it's search! We have top rankings in Second Life, Web Design, Graphic Design, Printing, E-learning, and Web Programming. Here is an example of where we rank in the Second Life searches. This is due to our talented SEO and Pay Per Click campaign. Hopefully we can continue to put our efforts into this and see results as shown below. Take a look!

Trade Show Went Well!!!
So we had our trade show yesterday in Ohio at COSI. It was a STS & GSA government convention that invited the procurement officers to see what we could provide them in 2009. And as we all know there were tons of other vendors there but who cares about them right? lol.... We thought we would share our booth experience by showing it. Abby is in the picture but from the look on her face I do not think she was ready for this snapshot! Take a look as we did not get to put up one sign (Second Life) due to room. boo!

CCC Second Life Island Preview
By now know our team has been hard at work in Second Life on a couple of different islands. I wanted to give a quick preview of one of the buildings. Below you can see the building that will be used to give information about the computer courses. It will also be used by the Graphic Design and Game Design clubs of the school. In the pictures you can see the concept coming together in Second Life, then the final shot is the building after a few hours of texturing. Our team just has a few more textures to do in the front of the building, then add some furniture and this building will be finished!

Golf Course and Game is Complete!
Another Designing Digitally first. We have done a few small golf items like putt putt and a single hole games but nothing this large. We have now completed our first fully customized and playable 9 hole golf course. Though the island has not been completed (due to client extending time to gather materials for their information building) we were to excited to wait and announce the courses completion. Our talented designers and programmers did a wonderful job creating a course that reflects Pebble Beach Golf Course in California. More details will be available and soon you will be able to check it out for yourself! There are a few snapshots below showing the first few holes as well as the difficult 5th hole where the green is on the edge of a cliff!

Andrew Is Teaching Second Life To High School Students
We are proud to announce that our president Andrew Hughes is teaching students of Sycamore High School on the basics of Second Life. We are still trying to figure out when he sleeps. We now think he might sleep with his eyes open during our 9:00 Monday morning meeting. But who doesn't have a case of the Monday's? Anyways using Second Life as a learning tool is a great asset for the kids because of the wide array of skill sets that can be developed using Second Life, including 3D modeling, programming, and graphic design, among many others. The goal of the students from Sycamore High School is to develop a science lab and replicate mixing certain chemicals to obtain scientific reactions. These students are doing this as their capstone project to graduate from Sycamore High School in Cincinnati, Ohio. Below is a picture of Andrew and a few of the students in Second Life.

We did it again!!! Another Virtual Environment Server Setup! Yes I said SERVER!
This weekend our team was asked by a private University in Ohio to install the Open Sim to be used internally in classrooms as a testing server to see if they can integrate Virtual Environments into their classrooms. This setup went very successful and is now being used today as the pilot test for professors. We are excited to offer this service as a professional development tool for corporations, or for educational institutions that are afraid to open ports to use Second Life. This way the server software is installed on a local machine allowing them to collaborate without leaving the internal network. So security issues have been solved by having our firm setup your VE in your network! For more information contact us today!

We Did It! We Implemented our first Open Source Sim
Hats off to our talented crew for being able to implement an open source sim into a client's intranet. We were able to login 200 users without any lag due to it being hosted at their physical location and being used on their intranet! This development means that we can now install sims for local schools, colleges, businesses, etc. so that they can use them internally and never need to connect directly to a Second Life server. Therefore, there is no need to open ports for security or purchase a sim from Linden Labs. We are still in beta testing of the server but were able to connect 200 computers (clients) to the server at one time!!! Great job DDINC. Staff!

We like to help in anyway we can and try our best to assist clients and others on implementing video to their Second Life island or parcel. Trying to explain this in text usually becomes very long and confusing, so we have created a video tutorial to demonstrate exactly how to do it! Please see below:

Second Life Golf Game Progress
Our Second Life golf island is moving right along. We now have the HUD (heads-up display) created and programmed, along with the ball, tee and hole scripts. As of now we can also play the first 3 holes of the course! A driver, fairway iron/wedge and a putter were created yesterday and given to our programmer to program into the game. So as of now 80% of the scripted is complete, scripting of the golf clubs with animations and sounds, adding the scripted tee boxes and putting greeens to the remianing 6 holes, then incorporating the high scoreboard are all that remain for the programmer.

Second Life Tutorial - Attaching a HUD
We were recently talking with one of your Second Life clients and the idea of incorporating a HUD (heads-up display) to their island for guiding visitors and giving additional information came up. The client was very interested in the idea and eager to learn exactly what a HUD was. To assist them and anyone else interested in using a HUD we created a short tutorial video on attaching a HUD.
