The Honolulu Second Life project was exciting for Designing Digitally, Inc., as it was unique to most builds that had been done in the past. Rather than owing a private island, Honolulu Fish and Seafood Corp. had 4 regions next to each other on the main land. Although they expressed interest in purchasing a private island in the future, they felt it would be best to utilize their current land at this point. This was no problem for the Designing Digitally, Inc. team. The client had a strong vision for their island which they were able to convey through pictures and discussions, and the build took little more than week to develop from the ground up. Honolulu Fish and Seafood Corp.'s island is a replication of Pier 38 in Honolulu, Hawaii, complete with a dock and a building to hold all of their videos and product information.

We have released our 2008 Corporate island. This design was out of the ordinary for most all SL builds. We wanted to push the limits of Second Life by developing an abstract corporate headquarters. Often times when building we take for granted that there is no gravity within this virtual environment. Therefore we wanted to show everyone out there looking at Second Life that we can push the limits of design to better promote the organizations that are in need of branding themselves. If you are looking for a professionally designed island/sim within Second Life you are defiantly at the right place!

Barbert Global. Ltd. is a company that provides consulting to insurers, which allows insurers to keep up with the latest regulatory issues in insurance. The company came to Designing Digitally, Inc. with the desire to build a Second Life island, but were unsure of exactly which direction to head in as far as design. What they did know was that they wanted a headquarters/office building, 10 small huts which would be available to rent, 4 larger huts available for rent, as well as a sandbox. With free reign over the design of the island, Designing Digitally, Inc. started from scratch and created Microinsurance Island, a 3rd world country which includes all of the items the client required.
Since completing Microinsurance Island, Designing Digitally, Inc. also created an announcement video showcasing the island, as well as a customized email newsletter that will be used to send information to Barnert Global, Ltd.'s affiliates.

| Eastern Iowa Community College had originally purchased their island and decided to create the design of the island themselves. However, after hearing about Designing Digitally, Inc. and seeing their work, EICC decided to put the project in Designing Digitally's hands. EICC knew they wanted a building sculpted in the shape of theirs school's logo which resemembled an "E," and after seeing St. John's Island decided they would like a beach themed island, as well. Designing Digitally, Inc. was able to clean the slate and start with a brand new terrain with the main focus of the island being the "E" shaped building.

Miami Valley Career Technology Center provides educational options and employment preparation for youth, adults, and organizations in the Miami Valley. Miami Valley CTC approached Designing Digitally, Inc. with a large scale project which entailed a replication of their entire campus. This replication would be used for recruiting and educational purposes. The Miami Valley CTC project is a combination of four Second Life islands which are connected and included on those islands are three large buildings. Designing Digitally, Inc. visited Miami Valley CTC's actual campus in order to take pictures and see first hand what the Second Life island should look like and from there was able to replicate every detail of those buildings from the floor plan to the desks within Second Life parameters.
Since the completion of the build, Miami Valley CTC has asked owner of Designing Digitally, Inc., Andrew Hughes, to be involved in the running of a class within Second Life, which will educate students on Second Life itself.

Saffron Interactive was one of Designing Digitally, Inc.'s first international clients, residing in the UK. Being an interactive design firm themselves, but having no prior experience in Second Life, Saffron knew they needed to find a company that could exceed their own abilities in Second Life, and that would match the level of skill and professionalism their own company would use to create any project. Designing Digitally, Inc. was that company. Although there was a difference in time zones between the two companies, Designing Digitally, Inc. was able to make themselves available to Saffron in order to allow them to convey their thoughts and ideas for the island. Their goal was to establish a presence in Second Life with a place to hold virtual conferences, as well as to allow people to learn more about them. Designing Digitally, Inc. was able to create a beautiful island for Saffron, complete with two large buildings containing a lobby/lounge a boardroom, an auditorium, and a game room.

Designing Digitally Inc. created our 2006-2007 SL island after Frank Lloyd Wright's architecture for the Beth Shalom Israel Synagogue he built. Our designers are very talented and requested that they be challenged for our island. Therefore what better way to provide a challenge to them by having them replicate a innovative designer. This island has currently been stripped down and is now our 2008 re-designed abstract island. Feel free to visit our portfolio island at any time to see the new design!
