For several years the Designing Digitally team has submitted custom learning and development solutions created with our partners to the Horizon Interactive Awards. The Horizon Interactive Awards are known for identifying, promoting, and honoring the most outstanding developments in online advertising, videos, print media, websites, and mobile applications. Every year thousands of entries are received, and a panel of diverse experts reviews the submissions to determine the leaders in their industry’s work.
Recently, the Horizon Interactive Awards announced the 2020 winners, and Designing Digitally was thrilled to receive acknowledgment for our efforts by winning three times in the Training / eLearning subcategory. The projects for which we won are as follows:
The custom “MFLEAT Training Course'' solution we created with Road Systems, Inc. (RSI) won a Silver Horizon Interactive Award. This online training course teaches guardrail installers and inspectors about the MFLEAT guardrail terminal to ensure proper implementation and safety. Built into the training is the Adapt authoring tool compatible with all major browser and mobile devices. It takes learners around 45 minutes to complete. It is packed with over 60 interactions and videos, including a fully 3D interactive interface allowing the learner to examine every component of the terminal down to the bolts. The course enables them to install the terminal with precise information for each part’s locations and the correct sequence. RSI wanted learners to engage with the information and understand the similarities and differences of the MFLEAT features compared to their other products, giving the company the ability to effectively provide this product to the DOT in each state while reducing confusion and increasing proper installation and did that through this development.
The custom eLearning solution “Coaching & Developing Your People” we produced for Terminix also received a Silver Horizon Interactive Award. This course trains leaders over coaching concepts and how to make decisions based on those concepts. The program also covers the framework for giving feedback, then provides the learner with scenarios in which they apply the information through branching responses. The learner stays engaged through highly visual interactions they must complete to progress to the next phase of the training.
Another custom eLearning program we developed in partnership with Terminix, “Hiring, Interviewing, & Creating Quality Talent Pools,” received a Silver Horizon Interactive Award as well. This training course teaches learners the four-step interview process. The training experience turns the learner into the hiring manager with a stack of job candidates. The module shares information on scoring a candidate before selecting an interviewee, provides feedback based on the decisions made throughout the conversation, and shows how to choose the best candidate for specific needs.
