eLearning Design Checklist

Every learning designer wants to create courses that will resonate with the learners. Great designs are easy to create if you follow a few simple rules.

Here are a few points to keep in mind while drafting an e learning design and development checklist. This is just a basic checklist, as there is no one-size-fits-all list. Each course has different requirements. Learning designers will need to customize the checklist depending on the relevant course.

  • Analyze training needs.
  • Evaluate the target audience.
  • Draft learning objectives with measurable criteria.
  • Ensure content flow is smooth and is chunked logically.

  • Write clear headings.

Assessments

  • Ensure all questions are relevant and realistic.
  • Test scoring functionality and ensure the grading scale is appropriate.
  • Confirm every question has appropriate feedback.
  • Confirm new content is not presented in the assessments.
  • Make sure reasonable time is allowed for learners to answer the questions.
