Portable technology has proven to be a game-changer for all types of businesses. The ability to access information nearly instantaneously has given everyone an edge that didn’t exist previously.

Mobile technology, evidenced by its name, gives users the capability to have all the information they need, right at their fingertips, from any location. Employees are able to keep in contact with the home office when they’re out in the field, which is not just a benefit to the employees, but to their clientele as well.

Profitability gains

The advances brought about by mobile technology have had a large-scale impact on the profitability of the companies that utilize them.

Here’s why:

  • Accomplish more. It’s no longer necessary to wait days for important documents to be mailed or for someone to return to the office to view or sign paperwork. Mobile technology allows these actions to be accomplished from any location with a WiFi, 3G, or 4G connection. It can also reduce the need for travel or allow work to be done from home. All businesses can benefit from increased productivity.

  • Motivate employees. Once they start to realize that engagement with mobile technologies can make their jobs easier, employees will jump on board. This is especially relevant for long-term staff that may not be as comfortable with smartphones, laptops, and tablets.

  • Time management. When employees can address problems and issues on the go, more time is freed up to handle other work that needs tended. It even helps employees to schedule their day in the most productive way possible.

  • Stimulate teamwork. Coworkers can collaborate with each other, whether in the office or not. Knowing that the members of their team are available at any time raises the likelihood that employees will work together. A company whose workforce works well collectively will put forth a united front that speaks to the stability of the business and results in a higher level of productivity.

  • Keep the clients happy. Greater productivity and flexibility allow employees more ways to meet the needs of their clients. There is less wait-time for problems to be handled and an easier flow of information back and forth. When customers feel as if their needs have been met, they are likely to provide repeat business and refer their friends.

  • Improved networking. It’s much easier to reach new prospective customers with mobile devices. Social media apps like LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook provide a whole new area of clientele. Customers respond well when they are easily able to reach their sales representative or other company representative.

  • Enhanced marketing. People are more likely to respond to an ad via SMS text than they are an email or another type of advertising medium. Most mobile apps allow advertising in the application. The same is true for optimized websites. Advancing mobile technology has provided savvy marketers an advantage for a fresh medium.

Businesses who utilize the latest in mobile technologies will not only draw customers, but will also attract high-quality employees, who are eager to work with a company that values the benefits of technology.
