Loomis has an illustrious heritage and a long history of providing cash-handling products and services throughout the entire world. They offer secure armored transport, ATM services, and cash management solutions. Loomis has a strong international presence with about 400 branch offices spread across more than 20 countries. Their global footprint makes it impossible to train all employees on company policies and procedures using traditional instructor-led training. Therefore, Loomis searched for a vendor who could develop a Learning Management System that would be cost-effective as well as accessible from anywhere in the world.
Loomis selected Designing Digitally, Inc. as a partner to design and develop a web-based Learning Management System (LMS). After working through a detailed Determine phase, Designing Digitally, Inc. recommended building an LMS with open-source technologies. The completed LMS is a fully functional system with course importation, user and group administration, reports, and much more. Each division administrator can assign courses to their employees and monitor their progression.
The LMS solution is accessible worldwide to Loomis employees in their native language. Designing Digitally, Inc. worked with professional translators to provide the website content in a multitude of languages including English, Spanish, Turkish, Slovak, Czech, French, Finnish, and German. The LMS automatically detects the language on the learner’s computer, ensuring all Loomis employees can effectively use the system without any language barriers.
Loomis launched the LMS in 2015 and has had many different employees across the globe access training courses within this LMS. They are still utilizing the system around the world. Overall, this base learning management system has saved thousands of dollars by eliminating the transportation, lodging, and personnel costs that would have been incurred for on-site instructor-led training.
