Mobile has become the preferred way to consume content. According to a report by Zenith Media, the mobile proportion of internet use has been on the rise. It was 40% in 2012 and rose to 68% in 2016. For 2018, it is predicted to reach 79%.
How can learning be left behind? Mobile learning seems to be the way forward for corporate training as it allows training to grow in an organic manner without disruption. It is wise to understand and cater to learner needs if you want your learning modules to be successful. Understand what technology your learners are using and deliver your content via that platform. Millennial learners prefer mobile learning solutions, so use it to your advantage.

According to Global Workplace Analytics, millennial employees are mostly on the go. The newer generation of the workforce has seen a rise in flexible schedules and remote work. So, it may not be always possible to get your employees together for a face-to-face training. Also, training works best when it is received at the point-of-need. For example, when a remote sales associate is at the client site and needs information to educate the client, they may not remember what was taught during the sales orientation training. If they can access mobile learning, they can brush up on their knowledge and facts just before the meeting. The recall value of the information is far greater that way as well, when the learner applies the knowledge in context.
Performance support is about providing support to your employees when they need it. That way the workflow is not interrupted. Mobile learning makes it possible at a different level altogether. The more the technology advances, the better will be the learner experience.
