The result is innovative 3D training simulations, providing hands-on learning experiences for maintenance tasks on gas regulation stations.

The Challenge
The gas and energy client faced a dual challenge – the high cost and logistical complexities of in-person annual training for field representatives. Simultaneously, there was a need for effective and hands-on training for new employees in gas regulator maintenance. The challenge was to create a flexible, efficient, and engaging training solution accessible on both the web and Android devices.
The Solution
Designing Digitally responded with a revolutionary single-player 3D training simulation featuring a virtual trainer. This solution broke down the maintenance process into five chapters, providing step-by-step guidance. Leveraging Unity 3D technology, the simulation seamlessly integrated into the client’s Learning Management System (LMS) via SCORM. Additionally, the simulation was adapted for Android OS, ensuring accessibility for field representatives using smartphones and tablets.
The learning experience was enriched with interactive modules, realistic scenarios, and progress tracking. This innovative approach facilitated effective learning, bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application.
The Impact
The undisclosed client witnessed a remarkable improvement in safety and new employee orientation for field operators. Safety violations were reduced significantly, showcasing the effectiveness of the immersive training. The Gas Regulator Maintenance Simulation deployment also resulted in a substantial decrease in expenses associated with traditional in-person training sessions.
